![]() Greg White and I have learned a ton about the future of work and polygamous careers in the 2 years since founding Continuum. Today we’re announcing our $12M Series A led by Pelion Venture Partners! Finally, once I’ve caught all the cutthroat, rainbow and brownies in the Teton River and the South Fork, I’ll jump back into building big businesses and hopefully helping you build yours:) I’ll also step into an advisory role with BILL helping Rene. What we’ve built is now part of an even bigger foundation that will enable our collective success and the success of SMB’s everywhere.Īs for what’s next, I’ll take some much needed time with my wife and kids. From a founder’s perspective, this is the dream outcome. I can’t wait to cheer on all my Divvy/ friends as we have most certainly become stronger together. One of my goals was to leave while still enamored by what we all built. So many of my peers and predecessors become embittered by the very thing they created. ![]() Building Divvy with you has brought me immeasurable joy. To all of the incredible Divvynauts, thank you for choosing Divvy and for letting me serve you. For a self-professed introvert (that knows how to turn it on when it counts), I never would have dreamt of gaining six lifelong friends whom I love dearly. I couldn’t have asked for a more committed, gritty, thoughtful and loyal team. The list is too long for this forum but I must specifically acknowledge a few individuals that I owe everything to: Sterling Snow, Alex Bean, Blakely Cragun, Tyler Hogge, Casey Bailey and Gregory Larson. She encouraged, comforted, and challenged me to rise to the occasion more times than I can count. ![]() The sacrifices and trade offs that were requisite to try to achieve the impossible were made possible by her. Most of all, I’m full of gratitude for my sweetheart, Tianna. There’s a deep sense of pride, a collective energy, urgency and optimism that we experienced as Divvynauts. I’d like to believe this isn’t just my opinion, but it has meant something to work at Divvy. I’ve always been a firm believer that *you are what you do.* Out of our very organic process was born a culture that prioritized clarity, extreme ownership in every role, speed, trust and accountability (positive and negative). Startups typically spray paint cliche culture statements on their wall only to never actually live the values. Most of you don’t know, but we waited a year to formally define our culture. I’ve loved it all and truly have felt lucky from start to finish. There were crazy fundraising meetings, incredible meals, devastating trials (broken phones/holes in walls!), sacrifices, big risks, long days and later nights. From initial idea to $2.5b exit in 5 years, creating an entirely new market of software led financial services, surviving and then thriving through Covid, hiring and working with hundreds of wonderful people. What we achieved, in such a short time, is remarkable and, in many ways, miraculous. It’s time for me to say goodbye and step away from my day-to-day role at Divvy and BILL.
